Our First Night in Vegas

After a wonderful road trip with Tracy and Jim (thanks heaps!) we threw our bags into our room at the Desert Rose.  We spent a few minutes packing for the next day’s expedition, which turned to be a very good thing.

We put on some party clothes and headed down the strip.  Unfortunately, the Rock Bar had $10 all you can drink until midnight.  When that dried up we continued down the strip, considerably merrier.

The Cosmopolitan is very glamorous, with lots of crystal chandeliers.   We fit right in with our Ross Dress for Less and Walgreens bags.  We met some really nice locals and stood around chatting or dancing until I got tired and headed back home.  Linda and Leanne, however, continued on.  Leanne stopped drinking, but Linda couldn’t find the handbrake.

Leanne could not talk her into going home, but she would bar hop, so they travelled up the strip slowly, finishing at the Hooters next door to our hotel.  Finally, they arrived home at 6 am, with assistance.

We poured Linda into bed, worried sick about being able to go on our much-anticipated, pre-paid rafting trip later that morning.

However, after a few hours in the recovery position she managed to get up, shower and dress herself.  Somehow she thought a cold washer on her head would make it better.

Leanne and I finished packing her bag and she pulled it through the lobby with Leanne leading and me behind saying, ‘Sorry.  Excuse us.’

We put her sunnies on her face and she sat in a chair in the lobby. She had some horoziontal time at the airport.

Her first coherent words were at about noon after the pre-flight safety talk.  She asked for the drinks trolley.

Her day was pretty much a write-off, but Leanne enjoyed the view at the Bar 10 Ranch.

  1. I gotta say, the towel on her head pic says everything the body over the luggage rack would have. Ah the stories...
