Bocce

I am sure this could be more brief, but I loved all these photos. This was a great way for me to spend a Sunday afternoon.

  1. We had a great view of a bowling green from our upstairs room at the Sycamore B&B in York, England. The cute little old men wore cardigans with insignias and were very serious.
We wondered why there were no women around. On a stroll around the green, We noticed the board listed a certain day and time that ladies were allowed to use the bowling green.

  2. Yes, there are lots more men than women here. The women do play, and quite well from what I could see. They spent most of this afternoon in the kitchen, though. Funny, I wandered into the dining room to see what they were up to, and I found them playing a game I'd never seen before. Thinking it was another Italian game, I asked. It was Rumikub, an Aussie game!
